As a continuation of previous QNews’ articles (you can access them via the links), in this series we’re providing helpful tips on setting up QPro for your business. After completing the setup of Company, Locations, Employees, Sales Tax, Sales Tax Table, Product Types, Labor Types, Customer Accounts, Vendor Accounts, Contact Manager, and manually setting up the Product Catalog, you can now take your workflow to the next level by importing products directly into QPro. This is quick, efficient, and significantly minimizes data entry errors.
B2B Setup:
The first step to utilizing fcB2B is proper setup and configuration of your vendor accounts. This video will walk you through the steps for B2B setup:
Next, you will need to establish an account with a certified vendor that you’re going to do your transactions with. You can find a list of B2B Certified Vendors here:
(Note: A B2B Certified Vendor means that we've done testing with the vendor, and we've certified that their documents work well with our software and follow fcB2B standards.)When you’re viewing the list of certified vendors, click on a vendor’s icon to get general contact information and instructions on how to request an account from the vendor. For example, this is Shaw’s B2B info page.
B2B Import:
Once you have your account information for the B2B vendor saved into QPro, you can begin importing. Let me emphasize and stress that this will save your business a significant amount of time and money.
As a friendly reminder from the product catalog tutorial, you will want a detail-oriented person to be in charge of B2B. This should be the same person that is responsible for the product catalog, and is often the person that manages inventory (the material screen).
This B2B video goes step by step on how to do a B2B import. After you do B2B imports a couple of times, it will become a quick and easy routine to update your product catalog.
CSV Price List Import:
Instead of utilizing B2B, some vendors might choose to import a digital product catalog in a CSV format. Please note that the CSV must be in the correct format in order to import without errors. If you are wanting to update your product catalog this way, follow the CSV Product Catalog guide for more information.
This Recommended Description (Style) Name Pattern is also a helpful resource when it comes to manually entering styles and colors into your Product Catalog, or importing a CSV file that you or your vendor have created.
